Walker Crane & Rigging Corporation, located in Plainville, CT and founded 1883, specializes in licensed and insured crane service, rigging, machinery moving and warehousing throughout the northeast. We also provide transportation and heavy hauling throughout the United States.
We have an opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our front office.
Responsibilities of the team include:
· Provide clerical support to the accounting department, front office and sales team.
· Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
· Certified payroll forms.
· Reconcile accounts payable ledger to vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues.
· Reconcile credit card statements with expense reports/receipts and post journal entries.
· Prepare customer invoices and follow up on past due accounts.
· Maintain customer and vendor databases.
· Prepare 1099s.
· Support safety procedures and update training manuals.
· Answer and direct phone calls. Greet and direct visitors to appropriate departments.
· Inventory and order office supplies.
· Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements & Skills:
· Prior bookkeeping experience preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proven time management and critical thinking skills.
· Self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal supervision.
· Excellent attendance and timeliness.
· Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check..
