Junior Accountant

Essential Functions

The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Timely processing of Accounts Payable.
• Coordinate and expedite timely billings to the stores.
• Accounts Receivable all member subsidiaries.
• A/R Daily reconciliation and weekly tie-out schedule for Corporate A/R Dept.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly billing, and set up sales tax liability on various invoices.
• Monitor Tech’s mailbox (review all invoices, handle all inquiries and problems)
• Communication and perform the necessary follow up with vendors, purchasing department and appropriate divisional associates to resolve and expedite vendor payments.
• Handle store inquiries and problems.
• Provide Wakefern Statement for assigned Shoprite Beverage stores.
• Working with Real Estate department on payments and billback all miscellaneous charges for Rents & Loans programs.
• Issue weekly credits on 2% Interest Subsidy program to stores.
• Handle all inquiries and issues on Rent & Loans programs.
• Prepare and process the appropriate journal entries for Period End, Mid-Year and Year End.
• Prepare Period End, Mid-Year and Year End for assigned schedules.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary.

• Four-year college degree with concentration in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
• Knowledge of basic accounting theory, financial systems, computerized systems, and control procedures.
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills (ability to maintain a high level of flexibility and adaptability
• Strong systems and personal computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office -Excel).
• Excellent written and oral communications, customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Professional attitude and excellent team player.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands
• Ability to monitor computer screens for long periods of time
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $24 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
