Responsibilities

• Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for clients with various needs, including childhood developmental delays, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, and recovery from injury or illness.
• Support patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
• Facilitate therapy sessions focused on improving motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions through engaging activities tailored to each client’s goals.
• Conduct patient assessments and document care progress accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
• Assist with patient transport within facilities or to external appointments, ensuring safety during manual handling and mobility tasks.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, caregivers, and families to optimize care strategies.
• Maintain detailed care documentation, update treatment records regularly, and ensure all activities align with established care plans.
• Support clients across various environments—including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, skilled nursing facilities—and adapt approaches based on setting-specific requirements.
• Engage in patient education and caregiver communication to foster understanding of therapy goals and promote ongoing support outside clinical sessions.

Experience

• Prior experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or disabilities is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in acute care settings or skilled nursing facilities is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience in outpatient or clinic environments involving pediatric occupational therapy is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical imaging procedures or familiarity with medical terminology enhances your ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to work with diverse populations—including pediatrics and geriatrics—in inpatient or outpatient settings is essential.
• Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles related to occupational therapy interventions is required.
• Experience supporting clients with occupational health needs or in home health environments will be considered a plus.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
