Wake Radiology UNC REX Healthcare is currently seeking a part-time Patient Services Representative to provide administrative, clerical, and front desk support at our outpatient imaging center in our Panther Creek office. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional service to our patients and supporting our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for patients in person and via phone.
Greet patients, answer questions, and provide assistance with registration and check-in.
Collect and distribute patient paperwork for interviews and clinical use.
Process and verify insurance information, including obtaining prior authorizations.
Coordinate and file referrals, ensuring accurate and timely communication with providers.
Enter patient and account information into the internal system accurately.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepare daily schedules and make reminder calls to patients.
Ensure all authorizations and documents are ready for the next day’s appointments.
Contact patients with outstanding balances to arrange payments.
Assist with other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting (radiology experience preferred).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Proficiency with computers and data entry.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of patients and staff.
