Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Primary Duties
- Plans and organizes work on service requests with all electrical related work orders.
- Provides leadership and expertise when distributing work orders to proper shop specialists and technicians.
- Provides detailed scheduling with Electrical Technicians to ensure all service requests are completed in a timely manner
- Distinguish between “Emergency” (total power loss or life safety risk) and “Scheduled" (preventative maintenance, lighting upgrades, project proposals) on daily service requests.
- Assist Electrical Technicians with routine as well as emergency service requests.
- Assist Electrical technicians with daily preventive and corrective maintenance in all Wake County facilities including high and medium security facilities.
- Maintain and enter information on repairs and requests into Wake County's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Oversee outside contractors that bid and perform Electrical related work.
- Work with engineers on new projects and existing building problems.

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of experience in electrical maintenance
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Five years of experience installing or maintaining commercial electrical systems up to 480V
- Experience operating personnel lifts and bucket trucks
- Experience with interior and exterior commercial LED lighting
- Experience with LED lighting and lighting control systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations
- Collaborate effectively with other trades staff
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Clear verbal communication and active listening
- Work safely from ladders and motorized lifts
- Perform tasks on roofs and other elevated structures
- Operate personnel lifts, bucket trucks, and forklifts
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Work with minimal supervision
- Effective time management
- Familiarity with workplace safety practices and PPE in accordance with OSHA
