Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Primary Duties
- Complete the repair or replacement of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm systems and related devices in Wake County facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of building infrastructure.
- Assist in performing required testing of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm and related systems.
- Complete routine, preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned including power outages, fire alarm troubles, generator failures etc.
- Monitors work progress completed by contractors.
- Enters information on work orders including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in electrical maintenance
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- NC Electrical License
- NICET Level 1
- Knowledge of commercial building electrical systems, fire systems, and generators
- Skilled in reading blueprints, work orders, and various schematics
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations
- Able to work cooperatively with other trades staff
- Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Capable of working from ladders and motorized lifts
- Comfortable working on roofs and elevated structures
- Experienced in operating forklifts and pallet jacks
- Thrives in a fast‑paced work environment
- Capable of working with limited supervision
- Strong time‑management skills
