Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct needs assessments and make decisions regarding medical care, social connections, and living arrangements for clients/wards.
- Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving to address client needs.
- Ensure clients have access to personal necessities and secure their belongings during residential transitions.
- Complete all required state, county, and court documentation and reporting.
- Advocate for clients by ensuring they receive all eligible benefits.
- Stay updated on policies and procedures through required and recommended trainings.
- Attend guardianship court hearings and provide testimony as needed.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule with 16 other Adult Guardianship Social Workers (currently rotated weekly).

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
- Two years of job-related experience
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Social Work experience with disabled adults and/or experience with an Adult Guardianship program
- Master's degree in Social Work and one (1) or more years of experience working with at least one of the following populations: the elderly, or adults with mental illness, intellectual developmental disabilities, or substance abuse
- OR Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work and three (3) or more years of experience working with at least one of the following populations: the elderly, or adults with mental illness, intellectual developmental disabilities, or substance abuse
