Job Summary:
- Create material takeoffs needed for current construction projects.
- Gather material lists from estimate and verify if correct before ordering materials.
- Negotiate with multiple suppliers to get the best pricing and service for materials needed.
- Manage suppliers relationships to minimize material delays and issues.
- Provide quotations needed by the estimating department for new project estimates.
- Issue purchase orders for all products and services using Quickbooks software.
- Create material trackers to monitor use of materials compared to estimated totals.
- Coordinate jobsite material requests and deliveries with project managers.
- Research new materials, vendors, and service providers.
Qualifications:
- Experience with construction materials and building practices preferred.
- Ability to do accurate material takeoffs using CAD or blueprints a plus.
- Good negotiating and communication skills.
- A working knowledge of MS Office programs, specifically Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks program a plus.
- Ability to work in an office environment with long periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
- Unloading shipments using a forklift and occasionally lifting items up to 50 lbs.
