Job Description
To give our furry clients the ultimate “spaw day” experience, we need groomers that can:
- Bathe, brush, blow dry, shave, trim nails, clean teeth, clean ears and de-matte dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds.
- Assess pets’ coat and skin condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatments.
- Groom Pets according to breed standards or customer preference
- Keep the grooming salon clean/organized and up to Department of Agriculture standards.
- Get and document relevant and sensitive information such as name, address and the pet’s grooming history.
- Verify pet vaccinations are all up to date.
To help us create a positive work environment and earn a client’s complete satisfaction, we need you to:
- Welcome customers in a warm, caring, reassuring way.
- Discuss a pet’s grooming needs on a one-on-one basis.
- Answer customer calls, input appointments and manage schedules in our I.O. system.
- Train other team members to trim nails.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- 1-year or more of grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
- 1-year of experience as a pet groomer (Dog and or Cat) in retail or other service industry where they’ve provided top notch service. ( At Home grooms on personal pets will not count towards the 1 or more-year experience)
- The ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
- Ability to provide your own equipment (clippers/blades/scissors/etc.)
- Flexibility in working evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Candidates must be 18 years or older.
