Responsibilities:
75% Legal Support
· Conduct conflict checks and enters new matters into the LEAP system
· Backup for second conflict checks
· Support attorneys on day-to-day administrative tasks
· Organize paper files and client documents through use of a document management system
· Assisting attorney in collecting and organizing legal and factual documents
· Transmitting emails and correspondence to client, witnesses and court official by electronic filing, mail, messenger, or fax in limited circumstances
· Supporting attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants on ad hoc requests and projects
· Backup for responding to inquiries in the client inquiry mailbox
· Other duties as assigned
25% Office Support (afternoon):
- Cover reception for breaks and absences.
- Sort mail and bring mail to mailbox at the end of the day.
- Deliveries, returns and banking deposits as needed.
- Trips to court to file documents.
- Set up and clean up for client meetings including beverages
- Assist in the execution of firm events, i.e.: holiday, employee events, lunches
- Troubleshoot and call in office equipment printers, mail machine, door camera and employee computer equipment.
- Assist with trash and clean bathrooms in the absence of maintenance.
Requirements:
· 2-4 years professional office experience.
· Ability to lift 40 lbs., stand on 5-foot ladder, and frequent use of stairs
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
· Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent priority changes.
· Highest standard of professionalism and integrity.
· Strong technical capability including all Microsoft Suite.
Education and other designations
· 1-2 years’ law firm experience preferred.
