Job Overview:
Wabash is seeking a Fiber Construction Technician to join our team. This full-time position involves constructing our fiber optic network supporting broadband internet, phone, and television services.
Responsibilities:
- Operate specialized construction equipment.
- Perform excavation using hand tools to expose cable when necessary.
- Install buried and aerial fiber optic runs.
- Read and interpret utility maps and construction drawings.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, overtime and emergency work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record. CDL is a plus.
- Experience working with hand tools preferred.
- Knowledge of basic construction.
- No prior experience is necessary. Training will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, crawl, stoop, crouch, climb, and balance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
