What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer position at W3Global?
LICENSED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:-
- The Structural Engineer will be responsible for conducting structural analyses, performing calculations, and providing designs for various projects.
- Day-to-day tasks include designing building components, preparing CAD drawings, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- The role will also involve reviewing designs for accuracy, quality, and safety considerations.
- Bachelor's degree (BSCE) or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Four years (minimum) of relevant experience in low and mid-rise building design.
- Professional engineering licensure in North Carolina (or via reciprocity). A S.E. license is preferred.
- Work individually or in a team under the guidance of a supervisor in an office environment.
- Collaborate with other structural designers to produce contract documents and specifications.
- Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design calculations based on client needs, sketches, and/or architectural drawings.
- Coordinate structural designs with multiple discipline-specific project team members.
- Capable of delivering quality design services within a managed schedule.
- Effective communication and independent decision making.
- Conduct quality assurance of completed work product.
- Attend meetings with clients and design partners during all phases of the work.
- Review contractor submittals and resolve construction issues.
- Occasionally perform field measuring and inspections.
