As a key contributor, you will leverage your expertise in electrical engineering principles, system design, and design software to drive project success and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

- Participate in project kick off meeting with Principal and any junior engineers assigned to projects.
- Collaborated with senior engineers and project managers on scope definition, code research, and design options trade‑offs.
- Participate in site surveys and captured field conditions.
- Provide load calculations based on code requirements.
- Coordinate new electric services with utility. Fill out work request forms.
- Contact local inspectors and fire department to establish our involvement in the project and discuss any local requirements.
- Work with CAD drafter to establish sheet sets required for project.
- Provide code review for project including Building Code, Electrical Code, Energy Code, Fire Code, Life Safety Code & other codes for each state and/or where to find the adopted codes and how they apply.
- Develop basis‑of‑design, one‑line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment sizing, lighting layouts, and life‑safety systems. on individual projects worked on and those of junior engineers.
- Provide Power distribution (normal/emergency) redlines and/or CAD/Revit drawings
- Work with vendors & architect on lighting & controls (layout, photometric intent, energy code alignment). Verify all information provided by vendor and architect. Notify architect on whether their lighting fixtures meet energy code after ComCheck has been performed. Work with architect and vendor to get into code compliance.
- Design Fire alarm/egress and low‑voltage infrastructure (IT/telecom, security, nurse call as applicable).
- Produced coordinated CD sets in Revit/AutoCAD; create one‑lines, lighting layouts, device plans, risers, schedules, and details.
- Mentor junior staff on design, workflows, and quality.
- Review junior engineers load calculations, basis of design and drawings produced. Redline errors and areas of concern.
- Lead internal/external coordination QA/QC meetings; align MEP & FP/architectural/GC/vendor inputs.
- Manage budgets, schedules & sequence milestones.
- Provide construction administration: review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform site walks to verify existing conditions and close.
- Work with Principal to develop fee proposals and level‑of‑effort planning.
- Stamp electrical drawings and affidavits.
- Other assigned tasks.
- Proficiency in CAD tools including AutoCAD & Revit.
- Strong background in electrical systems engineering with knowledge of NEC standards and system safety protocols.
- Ability to work within established company engineering procedures.
- Ability/desire to train junior engineers regarding all steps of the engineering process.
- Knowledge of various Building/Electrical/Fire Alarm/ Energy Conservation/Life Safety and other related codes.
- Knowledge related to system integration within mechanical, plumbing and fire protection environments.
- Knowledge using ComCheck energy conservation software.
- Strong project management skills including project scheduling; ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
