A growing tax and accounting organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant / Tax Review & Internal Accounting Lead (Manager Track) with 5 years of tax preparation and review experience. This role offers an opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities while contributing to a modern, technology-driven tax practice.
The position is primarily based in Danvers, MA, with periodic travel to Williamstown, MA, where approximately 1,100 tax returns are prepared annually. The role includes tax preparation, high-level tax review, internal accounting support, and participation in process and technology improvements designed to increase efficiency and reduce manual entry.

The organization has recently acquired a well-established tax practice with over 30 years of history. Senior CPAs are transitioning into retirement and will remain involved part-time to support continuity and knowledge transfer. The team includes a junior staff accountant and an experienced administrative assistant familiar with the client base.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including:
- Individual (Form 1040)
- Corporate (Form 1120)
- Partnership (Form 1065)
- Nonprofit (Form 990)
- Trust and Estate (Form 1041)
- Lead tax return review and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing
- Support internal accounting and operational needs
- Assist with implementation of new tax processes, automation, and technology
- Provide tax support to multiple office locations
- Communicate with clients regarding tax matters and questions
- Mentor, review, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
- Travel periodically to the Williamstown office for on-site support
- Minimum 5 years of professional tax preparation and review experience
- Strong knowledge of individual, business, nonprofit, and fiduciary taxation
- Experience with UltraTax and/or Drake tax software strongly preferred
- Proven ability to review and supervise tax work
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

- Experience in a senior, lead, or manager-track accounting role
