Senior Structural Designer - Corrugated Packaging

About The Job

A leading POP display and manufacturing company located in Attleboro, MA, is seeking a senior structural designer experienced both in point of purchase displays and structural corrugated design.

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced design skills in the creation of designs for packaging and/or point of service displays for new and existing products.
• Evaluates customer needs and expectations and translates them into drawings, designs, and prototypes within the manufacturing capabilities of the plant.
• Develops designs and recommends materials and production methods that will meet customer requirements and most efficiently utilize existing plant facilities and equipment.
• Creates or secures samples of designs for customer inspection, production orders and/or division operation.
• Performs packaging and component testing, evaluates results, advises sales, manufacturing and customers of findings.
• Evaluate existing customer or prospective customer packaging for possible improvement in style, function, appearance, cost and/or ease of packaging as directed by supervisor.
• Contribute creative input and conducts design reviews with customers.
• Provide training, guidance and support to junior designers.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Education And/or Experience

• College education or heavy college coursework in the field of computers, CAD, and drafting, or applicable work experience.
• Good communicator with customers and sales staff.
  
  

Candidates Are PREFERRED Who Offer The Following

• 3-5 years work experience in packaging or a related field.
• Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
