What are the responsibilities and job description for the Robotic Field Service Technician position at W3Global?
What You'll Do
- Install, start up, and maintain robotic welding systems (preventive & corrective).
- Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting for robots, controllers, and peripheral equipment.
- Support customers on applications, process issues, and system modifications.
- Perform emergency service calls and diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Training teams.
- Deliver customer demos, training, and courtesy visits.
- Assist with retrofits, upgrades, and service contract opportunities.
- 2 years of robotic repair or robotic field service experience (required).
- Strong knowledge of robotics, welding, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and computer systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel 25-40% (up to 50% preferred).
- Associate degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
