Job Description
The Relationship Manager is responsible for originating and managing a portfolio of agricultural lending relationships within the California Market. This role is production-focused, with primary accountability for generating new loan growth, strong production pipeline management, structuring sound credit investments and delivering consistent loan growth and acceptable portfolio management.
The RM serves as a trusted advisor to agricultural producers, agribusiness owners, and rural landowners by understanding their operations, financial goals, and risk profiles.
The ideal candidate brings strong market knowledge, a proven ability to originate new business, and leadership experience that supports our relationship-based culture.
This can be a remote position DOE.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and close new agricultural lending relationships to achieve production and growth goals.
Originate and structure agricultural real estate secured mortgages and lines of credit.
Identify, develop, win and retain profitable relationships in a competitive environment
Expand existing relationship through cross-selling and identifying additional credit opportunities
Manage an assigned portfolio of borrowers, serving as a trusted advisor and primary relationship contact.
Conduct on-site visits, financial reviews, and ongoing relationship planning to support credit quality and member satisfaction.
Prepare and present credit requests in compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor portfolio performance and proactively address credit risk.
Develop referral networks with brokers, attorneys, CPAs, appraisers and agricultural professionals
Represent us in the community and at industry events to build market presence.
Provide leadership through mentoring, collaboration, and support of team and market initiatives.
Qualifications
Passion for Sales, Customer Service and Winning
Knowledge of California agricultural markets, commodities, SGMA, commodity pricing and land values
Ability to source, structure, and close new lending relationships
Strong Emotional Intelligence and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with the ability to manage your own schedule and priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with rapidly changing priorities
Demonstrated time management skills, reflecting the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering sales growth
Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer relationships
Possess excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree preferred
