Role Overview
The QC Department Manager / ISO Coordinator is responsible for directing all quality control activities, maintaining ISO compliance, and ensuring that products and processes meet internal standards as well as customer and regulatory requirements. This position oversees quality inspections, testing, documentation, audits, and corrective actions while supporting production goals and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Leadership
- Direct and manage all functions of the Quality Control department, including inspection, testing, validation, and quality documentation.
- Lead, train, and mentor QC team members across multiple shifts, ensuring consistent application of quality standards and procedures.
- Establish expectations, evaluate performance, and promote continuous skill development within the QC team.
ISO & Quality Management Systems
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the facility's ISO Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001 or other applicable standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all ISO-related activities, including certification, surveillance audits, and recertification processes.
- Ensure all quality systems, procedures, and documentation remain compliant with ISO requirements and company standards.
Audits, Compliance & Corrective Actions
- Plan and lead internal audits and coordinate external audits with certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage audit findings, lead root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure.
- Maintain audit records, action plans, and compliance documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with production, engineering, maintenance, customer service, and leadership teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Support production goals by identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing effective quality controls.
- Ensure maintenance and quality activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor, analyze, and report key quality performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities using data-driven methodologies.
- Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 4-6 years of Quality Control leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably overseeing multiple shifts.
- Proven experience managing ISO 9001 or similar ISO certification programs, including audits and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in-house quality control systems and cross-functional quality initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in 24/7 or multi-shift manufacturing operations.
