Full Job Description

A fast-growing, family-owned commercial masonry and concrete company is seeking a Project Accountant to support its Florida team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter responsible for overseeing project accounting tasks and ensuring smooth financial operations. You will work closely with Project Managers to manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, job costing, and more. The company has successfully completed a wide range of high-profile projects across Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Ocala, Melbourne, and Fort Lauderdale. Specializing in the construction of Big-Box Retail Stores, Office Buildings, Multi-Story Projects, Banks, Hotels, Medical Centers, and Large Grocery Chains, the organization has built a solid reputation for delivering exceptional quality and on-time performance. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Accounts Receivable: Manage prime contract administration, AIA billings, and ensure collections through lien preparation.
• Accounts Payable: Handle sub-subcontractor administration, AIA billings, purchase orders, and serve as a lead for company-wide AP functions.
• Contract & Billing: Oversee contract terms and billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Payroll & Timecards: Enter timecards and production quantities, ensuring accurate payroll and job costing.
• Job Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, prepare job cost reports, and conduct variance analysis to ensure profitability.
• NTO Filing: Ensure Notice to Owner filings are completed accurately and on time.
• Change Orders: Assist in processing and tracking change orders as they relate to project budgets.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:

Education: College

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of construction accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor, Procore, Yardi.
  
  

Skills:

• Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for job cost and variance analysis.
