The Structural Engineer (PE) will manage diverse projects ranging from residential and commercial developments to government and public-sector facilities, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of buildings and infrastructure using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Sign and seal drawings, calculations, and reports in compliance with state requirements.
- Manage projects from kickoff through completion, balancing budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants for seamless project delivery.
- Conduct structural analysis using industry-standard software (RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, STAAD).
- Review and coordinate drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, providing redlines and markups as needed.
- Perform site visits and prepare structural observation and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, etc.).
- Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and CAD/BIM staff.
- Contribute to proposals, client meetings, and business development opportunities.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Structural or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 4-8 years of structural engineering experience, with at least 1 years post-licensure.
- Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, STAAD).
- Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD for coordination, review, and redlining.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships.
- Proven ability to oversee project budgets, schedules, and teams.
- Experience with threshold inspections, forensic investigations, or special inspections.
- Design-build or fast-track project delivery experience.
