- Lead the preconstruction process for HVAC and plumbing projects, including planning, budgeting, estimating, and early design development.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate closely with clients and internal teams.
- Build relationships with new clients while providing exceptional service to existing ones.
- Lead all preconstruction activities: prospecting, design coordination, estimating, budgeting, and feasibility analysis.
- Work with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to define project scopes and ensure constructability.
- Review mechanical and plumbing system designs; provide value-engineering recommendations.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates and project proposals.
- Manage bid processes, subcontractor outreach, qualifications, and procurement planning.
- Ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations and project management teams.
- Monitor industry trends, codes, and best practices to enhance internal processes.
- Support business development with technical expertise and client presentations.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, mechanical/plumbing design, or project management.
- Strong expertise in commercial, multi-family, and institutional construction.
- Experience with estimating software, BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, or related tools (preferred, not required).
- Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes, construction methods, and cost analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- PE license preferred, but not required.
