Summary
We are seeking an experienced Millwork Engineer who can convert architectural drawings and design concepts into engineered, production-ready shop drawings and deliverables using Microvellum. The ideal candidate consistently delivers accurate, complete, and on-time engineering packages that move through manufacturing smoothly and without surprises.
General Responsibilities
- Build detailed, manufacturable Microvellum models and complete engineering packages.
- Produce shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC data with high accuracy.
- Meet project milestones, deadlines, and KPIs set by the Engineering Manager.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, project management, and production teams.
- Provide written updates on project status as required.
- Produce custom construction details that support project design intent.
- Complete submittals accurately and on time according to company standards.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Participate in daily Engineering team meetings and provide project statuses.
- Work with leadership to improve engineering processes, Microvellum templates, spec groups, libraries, and standards.
- Manage 4-6 active projects at different stages with urgency.
- Efficiency: Delivers significant output with minimal waste; consistently meets deadlines.
- Technical Knowledge: Architectural millwork, CNC equipment operation, woodworking construction methods.
- Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
- Attention to Detail: 98% engineering accuracy.
- Persistence: Reliable follow-through and consistent performance.
- Flexibility: Adapts quickly to changing priorities and project conditions.

- 5 years of experience in the commercial millwork industry.
- 3 years of experience with Microvellum.
- Strong understanding of architectural and millwork drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections).
- Experience with CNC programming and millwork fabrication, joinery, and machining processes.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering, Woodworking, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of AWI Standards (preferred but not required).
