CNC Machinist A - CNC OD Grinder
About The Role
Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist A - OD Grinder responsible for the setup and operation of various machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, drills, hones, hobs, shapers, bevel gear generators, and other manufacturing equipment as assigned. This role will be heavily focused on the operation, setup, and programming of Studer CNC OD Grinders with Fanuc controls.
The ideal candidate will perform quality inspections, make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances, and work with minimal supervision while meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards. This position is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with state-of-the-art equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate assigned CNC manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision.
- Program and operate Studer CNC OD grinding machines utilizing Fanuc controls.
- Perform quality inspections and make necessary tooling or machine adjustments to achieve required dimensions and surface finishes.
- Conduct first-piece inspections and verify work completed by other operators.
- Assist in training operators on safe machine operation and best manufacturing practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and timekeeping records.
- Follow TPM requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company quality and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of related machining experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and geometry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience using precision inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience programming and setting up CNC OD grinders.
- Experience with Studer CNC grinding machines and Fanuc controls.
- Ability to hold aerospace-level tolerances down to ±0.0002 inches.
- Experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, or similarly regulated environments.
Salary : $20 - $30
