Position: Texas Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Location: On-site, Texas

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 per year (based on experience)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Texas-licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer who is dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment. This individual will support funeral directing, family arrangements, embalming, crematory operations, and overall workflow within a growing funeral home.

Key Responsibilities

Funeral Directing & Family Arrangements

• Meet with families to make at-need arrangements and present service options
• Provide professional and compassionate support to grieving families
• Arrange, coordinate, and direct funeral and memorial services
• Complete all documentation, permits, authorizations, and related paperwork
• Communicate effectively with clergy, cemeteries, vendors, and internal staff
  
  

Embalming & Preparation Room

• Perform embalming, restorative work, cosmetics, and preparation
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and compliant preparation room
• Dress, casket, and prepare decedents for viewing or services
• Maintain equipment and follow TFSC regulations
  
  

Crematory & Operational Support

• Assist with crematory operations as needed
• Ensure proper chain-of-custody and documentation
• Support scheduling and workflow for cremations and services
  
  

Administrative & General Duties

• Assist with death certificates, permits, vital statistics, and filing
• Participate in removals and transfers when required
• Maintain accurate case files, records, and communication logs
• Support daily funeral home and cemetery operations as part of a team
  
  

Requirements

• Active Texas Funeral Director and Embalmer License
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills
• Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 80 lbs without assistance
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Willingness to assist with removals as needed
• Embalming experience preferred (new licensees welcome)
• Spanish language skills a plus, not required
  
  

Schedule

• Full-time with variable hours depending on service needs
• Occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities
• Shared responsibilities with the director team
