The role emphasizes practical maintenance, course playability, and pride of ownership, while supporting daily visitors and hosting major disc golf events.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds & Course Maintenance
- Maintain disc golf fairways, roughs, greens/putting areas, tee pads, and walking paths
- Perform mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and general landscape upkeep
- Manage vegetation control, brush clearing, tree trimming, and seasonal cleanup
- Monitor and address erosion, drainage, and high-traffic wear areas
- Ensure safe, clean, and consistent playing conditions across all course layouts
- Inspect, maintain, and repair outdoor facilities including tee pads, baskets, signage, benches, steps, bridges, fencing, and paths
- Coordinate installation and repair of course features and site improvements
- Assist with course layout adjustments, pin placements, and seasonal changes
- Maintain equipment sheds, storage areas, carts, tools, and grounds equipment
- Prepare courses and facilities for tournaments, leagues, and special events
- Coordinate closely with event staff, PDGA partners, and event leadership
- Assist with temporary course modifications, spectator flow, and event infrastructure
- Support post-event restoration, cleanup, and course reset
- Identify opportunities for ongoing grounds and facility improvements
- Assist with seasonal maintenance planning and scheduling
- Provide input on equipment purchases, repairs, and capital improvements
- Maintain a professional, well-kept appearance aligned with organizational standards
- Support and help direct part-time staff, interns, and volunteers as needed
- Assist with volunteer workdays and community engagement projects
- Communicate clearly with leadership regarding priorities, challenges, and needs
- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, parks maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- Disc golf experience or familiarity strongly preferred
- Comfortable operating grounds and maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of outcomes
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Basic mechanical and maintenance skills preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Primarily outdoor role in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours required at times to support events
