Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Operate grading and heavy construction equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
- Ensure equipment is used efficiently to support project timelines and grading operations
- Maintain awareness of jobsite activity and coordinate safely with crew members and equipment operators
- Perform routine equipment inspections and functionality checks
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Clean equipment regularly to preserve functionality and extend equipment life
- Perform minor repairs and report major equipment issues to management
- Follow all local, state, and federal construction safety regulations
- Adhere to all company safety policies and jobsite procedures
- Maintain a safe working environment around heavy equipment and construction operations
- Assist with grading operations and site preparation activities
- Read grade stakes and construction plans to support grading work
- Perform manual labor tasks when required by supervisors
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient project completion
- 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- Experience operating grading equipment on construction sites
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Knowledge of heavy equipment safety standards and operating procedures
- Ability to inspect, maintain, clean, and occasionally repair heavy equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and lift up to 90 pounds when required
- Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
- Experience working with a pipe crew
- Class B or Class A CDL (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with GPS grading systems
- Erosion control certification or knowledge
- Work outdoors on active construction sites
- Regular exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, and construction materials
- Work may involve exposure to substances such as diesel fuel, gasoline, concrete materials, grease, and construction compounds
- Typical start time 6:30 AM, with flexibility depending on project schedules
