About The Job

An industrial automation solutions provider is seeking an Electrical Designer to join its Alpharetta, GA team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing electrical control systems for industrial automation projects, with a focus on developing accurate, production-ready electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on EPLAN experience who enjoys collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to support automation projects from design through production.

The organization designs and manufactures advanced control systems for industrial customers across North America, delivering innovative automation and variable speed drive solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency and performance.

Position Summary

The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials using EPLAN while ensuring designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing needs. This role works closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to support successful project execution.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials using EPLAN.
  • Create accurate, production-ready drawing packages for manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain organized, standardized, and scalable electrical designs using EPLAN.
  • Select and specify electrical components based on project requirements and design standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs align with project scope and timelines.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and standards, including UL508A and NFPA70 (NEC).
  • Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to improve accuracy, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving internal EPLAN standards, templates, and documentation practices.
  • Support manufacturing by answering design-related questions and assisting with panel build execution.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, CAD/Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or control panel design.
  • Strong hands-on experience using EPLAN for electrical design (required).
  • Ability to independently create and modify electrical schematics using EPLAN.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with industrial control panel components and layout practices.
  • Working knowledge of UL508A and NFPA70 (NEC) standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and organized design documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Work Environment

  • Office-based electrical design work with hands-on involvement on the production floor.
  • Collaborative environment working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Monday-Friday daytime schedule.
  • Reports to Engineering and Operations leadership.

Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
