Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Control Engineer will troubleshoot, develop, and integrate control systems to support manufacturing and assembly operations. This role requires a commitment to the highest standards of quality, maximum customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in methods, practices, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues involving control programs and make necessary program modifications for efficient plant machinery operation.
- Manage and maintain programming devices (PG and laptops) required for equipment troubleshooting.
- Formulate and implement action plans to resolve major technical issues.
- Partner with machine vendors, maintenance, and process engineers to develop and improve automated PLC control and drive systems.
- Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting support.
- Utilize control systems to improve machine uptime and performance.
- Establish and maintain system access protocols, backups, and data recovery procedures.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and wiring tasks.
- Set up, enhance, and maintain control systems.
- Troubleshoot and adjust robotics systems.
- Maintain an updated inventory of all machine software packages; ensure software updates are obtained and installed.
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure proper maintenance and updates of line servers.
- Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, OSHA, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and all applicable automotive industry safety standards.
- Support environmental initiatives by identifying departmental environmental aspects and contributing to Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals through training and communication.
- Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory.
- Proper use of required PPE and safety equipment must be observed at all times.
- Required:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of related experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of logic control and ability to manipulate logic to resolve issues.
- Proficiency in statistical techniques and mathematical operations.
- Knowledge of electrical concepts and control communication protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
