Our client is seeking a Building Building Construction Estimator to lead cost planning, budgeting, and bid preparation for building projects. The ideal candidate will use their construction cost expertise to produce accurate estimates that support company goals and profitability.

- Review drawings, blueprints, and project documents to create time, cost, material, and labour estimates.
- Work with clients, vendors, engineers, designers, and construction teams to discuss estimates and resolve questions.
- Prepare estimates for selecting vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide cost updates and documentation throughout the project.
- Track actual costs versus estimates and assess cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor directories.
- Identify and prequalify new subcontractors and vendors.
- Support tendering processes and negotiate pricing.
- Help Project Management understand project scope and develop strategy.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate site conditions and subcontractor pricing impacts.
- Compile statistical data such as take-offs, material pricing, and labor costs.
- Follow company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Strong computer, organizational, and managerial skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage schedules, reports, and time effectively.
- Experience with On-Center Take-Off and Pipeline Bid Solicitation Software is a plus.
- Knowledge of CT School Construction and DAS procedures is a plus.
