We are a well-established independent family-owned and run business that has been serving the Hudson Valley area for more than 40 years. We help businesses and families throughout the Hudson Valley with their commercial, home, auto, life, and health insurance needs. We pride ourselves on providing personal, responsive service and building long-term relationships with our clients, insurance carriers, and community. With a team of approximately 25 employees, we offer the resources and market access of a larger agency while maintaining the personal, collaborative environment of a small business.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Representative to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, managing a diverse commercial book of business, and being part of a collaborative agency where your work has a meaningful impact.

The Position

The Commercial Lines Account Representative will support and manage day-to-day service needs for a portfolio of commercial clients. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable communicating with business owners, carrier representatives, and agency colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day servicing of commercial clients
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients
• Handle policy changes, certificates of insurance, endorsements, audits, renewals, cancellations, and other account servicing needs
• Review policies and coverage information for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with renewal preparation, including obtaining updated applications, loss runs, exposure information, and other underwriting documentation
• Communicate with insurance carriers and wholesalers regarding policy servicing and underwriting needs
• Identify potential coverage gaps and opportunities to better protect clients
• Assist producers with new business submissions and proposals as needed
• Follow up on outstanding information and ensure client requests are handled promptly
• Maintain accurate and complete account documentation within the agency management system
• Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Work collaboratively with producers, account representatives, and agency leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 years of commercial insurance experience preferred
• New York Property & Casualty insurance license required
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, including Business Owners Policies, Commercial Package Policies, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, and Umbrella/Excess
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• High attention to detail
• Ability to independently manage priorities and deadlines
• Comfortable communicating professionally with clients, carriers, and coworkers
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems (Experience with Epic system preferred)
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to providing excellent client service
