Essential Functions
- Review and audit field-entered data in HCSS HeavyJob to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper cost coding
- Identify discrepancies in labor, equipment, and production entries and coordinate with field teams to resolve issues
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using MS Project
- Track and analyze project progress, costs, and productivity against budgets and forecasts
- Utilize HCSS HeavyJob for cost tracking, reporting, and data management
- Prepare and distribute project status reports, including schedule updates, cost reports, and variance analyses
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure alignment between schedules, budgets, and actual performance
- Support project setup, including cost codes, budgets, and tracking systems
- Monitor job cost data and identify potential risks, delays, or cost overruns
- Assist in forecasting labor, equipment, and material needs based on schedules and production rates
- Facilitate communication between English- and Spanish-speaking team members
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation and records
- Assist in continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting systems
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in project controls, project engineering, or civil construction
- Proficiency in HCSS HeavyJob
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project
- Ability to analyze cost data, production rates, and project performance metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both office and field personnel
- Understanding of civil construction processes, including underground utilities (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
