What You'll Do
- Manage a plaintiff employment docket (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour, whistleblower)
- Draft and argue motions; conduct and defend depositions; manage written discovery and meet-and-confers
- Develop case strategy, evaluate liability/damages, and prepare mediation/trial briefs and exhibit/witness lists
- Lead settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations; try cases when appropriate
- Communicate proactively with clients; ensure timely updates and high-quality counsel
- Collaborate with team attorneys and staff; maintain accurate calendaring and deadlines
- JD and active California Bar license (in good standing)
- 3 years civil litigation experience preferred (plaintiff employment strongly preferred); motivated juniors with strong writing and advocacy skills will be considered
- Proven ability to independently manage a caseload and move matters efficiently to resolution
- Excellent legal research, writing, and editing; strong oral advocacy
- Superior organization, time management, and professional judgment
- Highest ethical standards; collaborative, client-centered mindset
- References required
- First- or second-chair trial experience
- Mediation/arbitration advocacy experience
- Spanish language skills
