Senior Project Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent to lead daily field operations for ground-up commercial construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, subcontractor management, project scheduling, quality control, and jobsite safety. Experience with multifamily residential or senior living construction is highly preferred.

This individual will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and ownership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Lead and oversee daily construction site operations from project startup through completion.

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, material deliveries, inspections, and field personnel.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-term look-ahead plans.

• Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve scheduling, coordination, and field issues.

• Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and building codes.

• Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with applicable codes and safety regulations.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite while enforcing OSHA and company safety requirements.

• Conduct regular site inspections and address quality concerns before they affect project timelines.

• Use Procore to manage daily reports, project photos, schedules, RFIs, documentation, and field communications.

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, ownership, and trade partners to resolve construction challenges.

• Support cost control, change management, and budget-conscious field decisions.

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate field staff while maintaining accountability and productivity.

• Provide regular project updates to management and key stakeholders.

• Several years of progressive construction field leadership experience as a Senior Superintendent, Project Superintendent, or comparable construction leadership professional.

• Strong, hands-on experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects.

• Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, schedules, and inspections.

• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, plans, specifications, building codes, and field coordination.

• Experience managing jobsite safety, quality control, and construction schedules.

• Proficiency with Procore or comparable construction management software, with Procore experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to identify field issues, make sound decisions, and keep projects on schedule.

• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Ability to work on-site at construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.

• Experience with ground-up multifamily residential or senior living construction.

• OSHA 30 or other relevant construction safety certifications.

• Experience managing complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and trade partners.

• Experience with project scheduling, cost awareness, change orders, and field-level budget management.

Projects are located throughout the Chicagoland area. Local travel between job sites is required, but no out-of-state travel is expected.

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction superintendent who has successfully led ground-up commercial projects, can independently manage day-to-day jobsite operations, and takes ownership of safety, schedule, quality, and subcontractor performance. Candidates with multifamily residential or senior living construction experience and strong Procore skills are especially encouraged to apply.
