Responsibilities
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership and non-profit tax returns of varying complexities
• Prepare and review underlying tax workpapers
• Perform tax research on client tax matters and provide technical recommendations
• Train and mentor staff accountants
• Assist in client tax planning and business advisory
• Communicate appropriately with clients, providing excellent service and quick turnaround
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years of experience working for a certified public accounting firm
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Professional, driven, and self-motivated
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills
• Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others on tasks to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and approaches projects with a sense of urgency
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
• Preferred: Certified Public Accountant or actively studying and preparing for CPA certification
• Preferred: Experience with Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite: UltraTax CS and AdvanceFlow
