Essential Functions
- Track, monitor, and communicate current, proposed, and new regulatory changes impacting the business.
- Independently research regulatory information in alignment with US FDA, USDA, and Canadian and Mexican regulations.
- Prepare timely and accurate responses to customer regulatory inquiries, including specifications, allergens, labeling, nutrition, claims, GMO, Organic, and other certifications.
- Create and maintain up-to-date regulatory statements.
- Review and approve finished product specifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and labeling for compliance.
- Conduct regulatory assessments for new ingredients and product launches.
- Support the Quality team in new supplier approvals.
- Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Production, Sales & Marketing, Agriculture).
- Train internal teams on regulatory topics and updates.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support business needs.
- Stay current with changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines.
- Complete all required safety and compliance training on time.
- Adhere to company procedures, GMPs, PPE requirements, SQF standards, and product quality guidelines.
- Support and promote the company's Food Safety culture.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field (required).
- 2-3 years of regulatory compliance experience within the food industry.
- Experience with ingredient compliance, product compliance, claims, and labeling.
- Strong knowledge of FDA food regulations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Canadian and Mexican regulations (preferred, not required).
- Spanish fluency (preferred, not required).
