This position is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our production workflow for both residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Submittal Drawings and Job Readiness: Generate accurate and comprehensive submittal drawings based on client expectations. Thoroughly inspect all jobs received from the design team for potential errors, ensuring all necessary operations are correctly specified and the project is fully prepared for G-code generation.
- Custom Library and Tool List Creation: Develop and maintain custom material libraries and tool lists within Cabinet Vision to optimize efficiency and accuracy in the design and manufacturing process.
- Material List Generation and Ordering: Create detailed and accurate material lists for each project. Take ownership of ordering job-specific materials in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
- Shop Drawings for Production and Installation: Produce clear and concise shop drawings for both in-house production and on-site installation teams, ensuring all necessary dimensions, joinery details, and installation requirements are accurately communicated.
- Project Review and Preparation: Meticulously review, process, and prepare each project with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is complete and ready for the next stage of production.
- Design Error Resolution: Effectively communicate any discrepancies, errors, or potential issues identified during the engineering process back to the Designers, collaborating to find efficient and effective solutions.
- Pre-Engineering Hand-off Meetings: Actively participate in pre-engineering hand-off meetings with the design and installation teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, discuss potential challenges, and ensure a smooth transition into the engineering phase
- Proven experience (typically 2 years) in cabinetry engineering or a closely related role.
- REQUIRED: Proficient in either Cabinet Vision or Microvellum software with output to CNC and hand operations.
- Strong understanding of custom cabinetry design principles, construction methods, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in time management and strict adherence to project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with both residential and commercial cabinetry projects is a plus.
- Strong practice and experience in Theory of Constraints, Toyota Production System, and Lean Manufacturing is desired.
- Preferred experience installing or integrating Cabinet Vision into an Organization
