A leading construction project management and owner representation firm is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager to join its Senior Project Management and Owner Representation team based in Manhattan Beach, California.
The firm specializes in managing large-scale ground-up and renovation construction projects across the luxury residential and commercial markets. Projects are managed nationwide, with experience spanning complex architectural projects, high-end residential developments, and commercial construction.
The firm serves as the overall project guide for owners pursuing complex architectural projects, providing support from initial project analysis through final project turnover. Current project budgets range from $10M to $150M in hard and soft costs, with a portfolio exceeding $400M.
This role will be responsible for coordinating and managing clients, architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and various project consultants across multiple projects simultaneously.

Core ResponsibilitiesCreate, maintain, and monitor project budgets throughout all phases of construction
Develop, update, and manage project schedules
Prepare meeting agendas, document discussions, and distribute meeting minutes
Review, analyze, and provide markups on architectural drawings, engineering plans, schedules, shop drawings, and other technical documents
Review consultant proposals, RFPs, scopes of work, and contracts
Review general contractor trade buy-outs and subcontractor scopes
Review and track project invoices, including hard and soft costs
Conduct site visits and prepare detailed site documentation
Coordinate communication between owners, architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and consultants
Manage project correspondence through phone, email, and other communication platforms
Assist with overall project execution from pre-construction through completion and turnover
Support senior project managers with project coordination and reporting
Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and team efficiency
Perform additional project-related responsibilities as required
Experience managing or supporting complex construction projects within residential, commercial, architecture, engineering, general contracting, or owner representation environments
Residential construction experience is preferred; however, strong commercial construction experience will also be considered
3 years of experience for Assistant Project Manager-level candidates
5 years of experience for Project Manager-level candidates
Strong understanding of construction processes, project coordination, budgeting, and scheduling
Ability to read, understand, review, and mark up architectural, engineering, and technical drawings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively
Self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Work Environment & CompensationThis position is based in Manhattan Beach, California, with travel to project sites as required.

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications:
Assistant Project Manager: $65,000 - $85,000
Project Manager: $90,000 - $140,000
