Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Lead Lineman to oversee and actively participate in aerial fiber and strand construction. This is not a sit-back role—you’ll be in the field daily, leading by example, building, and ensuring the job gets done right. The ideal candidate is someone we can trust to run a crew independently, maintain production, and uphold quality and safety standards without constant supervision.
Duties
- Lead and supervise field service crews during installation, repair, and maintenance of telecommunication systems
- Operate heavy equipment including bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently to facilitate construction and repair activities
- Perform pole transfers, and aerial cable and strand installation
- Read maps and drawings to construct new equipment to spec
- Climbing poles
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to construction practices, and working at heights
- Collaborate with project managers to plan daily tasks and coordinate resources effectively
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, fiber splicing logs, footages, and incident reports
Requirements
- Proven experience in aerial fiber and strand construction.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to run crew independently
- Ability to understand prints and construction plans
- Pole climbing experience and valid drivers license
- Reliable, self motivated, accountable
