Position: Machine Operator
Reports to: Floor Supervisor
Department: Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable and safe operation of assigned work area
Calibration of machine and adjust settings to begin each production cycle
Feed raw material to semi-automated machines
Inspect output material for any flaws and verify quality of work.
Perform routine pre & post inspections of machines; reporting any unsatisfactory conditions to floor supervisor
Safely operate all assigned machines according to instructions
Knowledge of hand and power tools
Report any damage to company property of any kind including racking, trailers, equipment
Accurate, complete, legible, and timely completion of paperwork, tally sheets, production tickets, and/or reports
Sweep and maintain a clean general facility work area inside and outside
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment, including industrial respirator mask
Performing other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or department manager
Physical Demands
Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, climbs stairs, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the minimum expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, some Sundays if necessary. (Hours to be worked will be evaluated daily as WSR needs.)
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma
Warehouse and field experience, with heavy duty equipment and machinery
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Work under all weather conditions, such as rain, low temperatures, dust, etc.
