Ambulance Dispatcher
Western Star Hospital Authority Inc. is currently hiring an experienced Ambulance Dispatcher to join our growing operations team. We provide emergency and non-emergency medical transportation for hospitals, nursing homes, medical facilities, and our Military Veterans. This is a fast-paced, high-volume dispatch center, and we are looking for someone who can stay organized, communicate clearly, and manage multiple transports efficiently.
If you have dispatch or EMS experience and enjoy working in a critical support role that helps keep patients moving safely, we want to hear from you.
Shift: Different shifts available
Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years of dispatching experience OR 1 year of EMT experience
- Ability to type 40 WPM
- Strong multitasking and communication skills
- Ability to work in a high radio traffic, high transport volume environment
Job Responsibilities
- Schedule ambulances for emergency and non-emergency transports
- Dispatch units to emergency calls quickly and efficiently
- Coordinate transports for hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical facilities
- Create, manage, and monitor transport trips from start to finish
- Follow up on trips to ensure timely completion
- Communicate with crews via radio and dispatch system
- Utilize Angel Track dispatching software for daily operations
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in our dispatch system within 30 days of hire
This position plays a critical role in patient transport operations, requiring strong attention to detail, quick decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple calls and requests simultaneously.
