Automated Welder Operator
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assuring work area is safe.
- Performing the various skills of the Spot-Welding department.
- Employee is required to be able to Set up and run both the Automated Welder & Manual Welding equipment.
- Employee is required to read and follow the manufacturing router/shop traveler.
- Employee is required at times to wire brush and change out electrode tips.
- Employee at times will need to fill out a maintenance request.
- Employee is required to lift pans of parts with maximum weight of 35 lbs., from storage shelf and put them on a cart at their workstation.
- Employee is required to maintain the proper specifications related to welding and pin holing.
- Employee at times may need to move pans from there department to another department.
- Employee is required to write completed component quantities on the crewing guide.
- Employee is required to use the Digital Data Base to find/review engineering specifications, quality documents, and SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information.
- Employee must be able to use pin gages and gage blocks to measure components.
- Employee is required to perform pattern change overs on the Automated Welder.
- Employee is required to clean work area daily at the end of the shift.
- Employee must maintain adherence to safety initiatives while working in his or her respective area in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Employee is required to follow all quality control plans as well as fill out any quality control forms to process acceptable parts.
- Responsible for cleanliness of the work area during and upon his or her completion of jobs.
- Take instructions from supervisors.
- Assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed.

Physical Requirements:
- Sitting: As required by operation.
- Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of times at machines.
- Moving: Normal, able to move throughout the department as required by operation.
- Lifting: Minimal, up to 35 pounds. Lifting of pans with various components.
- Pushing/Pulling: As required by operation.
- Visual Acuity: Normal and/or corrected vision for inspection of work /components.
- Bending/Stooping: Normal, minimal.
- Hand Action: Able to pick up individual parts and place/align them on the machine as well as apply some down pressure to hold the part in place during the spot-weld process.
Safety equipment required- Safety glasses and hearing protection.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of W.R. Case Job/Safety Orientation.
- On the job training.
