Position Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Grades K–2 Instructional Technology Teacher
Position Type: Full-Time Long-Term Substitute (1-Year Assignment)
Reports To: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
Position Summary:
The Long-Term Substitute Instructional Technology Teacher provides technology instruction and support for students in Grades Kindergarten through Grade 2 during a one-year leave assignment. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate technology lessons that promote digital literacy, creativity, collaboration, and responsible technology use. The teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate instructional technology into the curriculum and support student learning across content areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging technology instruction for students in Grades K–2.
- Teach foundational technology skills, including keyboarding, digital citizenship, basic coding concepts, multimedia creation, and the use of educational software and devices.
- Integrate technology into classroom learning experiences aligned with district curriculum and Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instructional goals through technology integration.
- Maintain and organize technology equipment, devices, and instructional materials used in the classroom.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with staff and families as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain classroom routines, expectations, and appropriate student behavior.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-based activities as required.
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and safety guidelines related to technology use and student privacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or district administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license preferred; appropriate licensure in Instructional Technology or Elementary Education preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in Grades K–2.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools, devices, and instructional applications appropriate for young learners.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education, interactive learning platforms, and classroom technology tools preferred.

Terms of Employment:
