Role Description The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site role located in Warsaw, IL. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, and other machinery on construction sites. Daily tasks include performing excavation work, grading, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with site preparation according to project specifications. The operator will conduct routine equipment inspections, report maintenance needs, and follow all safety procedures and company policies. The role involves working closely with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Heavy Equipment and Equipment Operation for construction tasks.
- Experience with Excavation work, including trenching, grading, and site preparation.
- Ability to perform basic Equipment Maintenance, including inspections and minor adjustments.
- Familiarity with operating Used Equipment safely and effectively.
- Prior experience as a heavy equipment operator in construction or related industries.
- Knowledge of job site safety standards and ability to follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is beneficial.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a construction crew.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or operator training are a plus.
