What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at W.J. Mangold Memorial Hospital?
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, biohazard duties for all areas of the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Repair and maintain hospital facilities, including grounds.
Perform general maintenance projects as assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, painting, equipment repair, and outside landscaping maintenance.
Ensure that property is always maintained and safe for employees and visitors
Completes work orders under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Observe outside vendor repairs.
Inspect fire extinguishers monthly.
Change out filters on A/C units as needed.
Assure that trash and bio-hazardous material is taken out on a scheduled basis.
Check lights in patient rooms weekly.
Coordinate the orderliness of the basement storage area.
Assist in moving supplies and equipment as needed
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Must be available on-call at times after hours and weekends
Ability to climb and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Background in general repair.
SKILLS: Good mechanical skills and the ability to work with people.
