What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardware Test Engineer position at VySystems?
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Hardware Engineering:
- Drive CM/ODM execution for server products across design, NPI, and volume production.
- Review schematics, layout, and component selections (CPU, GPU, DDR, PCIe, VRM, NIC, storage).
- Support platform bring-up, functional validation, and performance tuning.
Manufacturing & Quality:
- Manage factory builds, test planning, and quality gates at CM sites.
- Work with CM test engineering on automation, station bring-up, and yield improvements.
- Analyze factory KPIs (yield, test failure rates, scrap, DPPM) and drive improvements.
- Lead FA/CA/RCA for systemic field and build failures.
Firmware & System Enablement:
- Interface with BIOS, BMC, and firmware engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
- Support secure boot, RAS features, GPU enablement, and Redfish/IPMI readiness.
- Validate firmware and overall system functionality during NPI.
Cross-Functional Technical Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with R&D, quality engineering, supply chain, reliability, and program management teams.
- Lead ODM/JDM weekly technical reviews and issue-closure cycles.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to partners and internal stakeholders.
Required Technical Expertise:
- 3 years of experience in server hardware engineering or datacenter system design.
- Deep knowledge of:
- GPU/CPU server platforms (HGX platform experience preferred)
- PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6, NVLink, and CXL
- DDR4/DDR5 memory subsystems
- NVMe/SATA/SAS storage technologies
- VRM, power delivery, AC/DC PSUs, and PDN analysis
- Thermal management and high-density airflow solutions
- Board-level debugging and lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers)
