The Vulcan Company sells demolition tools directly to construction equipment distributors through its sales force of factory and manufacturing representatives located throughout the country. These distributors then re-sell to construction contractors and other end users.
Job Description:
Metal Shaping Power Hammer experience a must.
- Operate power hammer 10% of your time (Nazel hammer 300lbs) and other forging machines 90% of your time, to shape metal to manufacture demolition products according to specifications.
- Reads blueprints and work orders to determine machine setup.
- Installs dies in machines according to surface contours, size, and thickness to shape metal.
- Apply lubricants to machines and dies to prevent wearing.
- Use furnace to heat up metal and hammer / forge to attain specified shapes.
- Observes metal during shaping to detect wrinkles and other defects.
- Trims excess materials from parts, using a shear press.
- Compares finished part with template or sample part to verify conformance to specifications.
