Job Title: Configuration ManagerLocation: Mechanicsville, VA 23116Duration: 05 months Role SummaryServe as the Configuration Manager within the IT Service Management (ITSM) organizationEstablish, govern, and continuously improve the Configuration Management processEnsure Configuration Management practices align with ITIL standards Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and traceability of Configuration Items (CIs)Support effective Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, and FinOps ManagementOwn and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)Collaborate across functional and technical teams to ensure reliable service deliveryDrive continuous improvement of Configuration Management maturity and CMDB healthIntegrate and manage Azure resources within a third-party CMDB (Ivanti Neurons for ITSM)Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management policies, procedures, and standardsEnsure compliance with ITIL best practices and policiesOwn and govern the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistencyDefine and enforce Configuration Item (CI) identification, classification, control, and reporting standardsCollaborate with Change, Incident, Problem, and FinOps teams to support service management processesPartner with Infrastructure, Network, Security, and Application teams to collect and maintain CI dataIntegrate Azure cloud resources into the CMDB to support operational and financial visibilityMonitor, audit, and validate configuration data to ensure data quality and reliabilityEstablish, track, and report KPIs and metrics for Configuration Management and CMDB healthProvide leadership, guidance, and training to IT teams on Configuration Management best practicesSupport IT governance, risk management, audit, and compliance initiativesRequired QualificationsITIL Foundation certificationMinimum of eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing Configuration Management policies and systems in enterprise environmentsMinimum of eight (8) years of experience implementing and managing a CMDB with Azure resource integrationMinimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience with Ivanti Neurons for ITSM CMDB capabilitiesProven experience in Configuration Management within an ITIL-aligned ITSM frameworkStrong understanding of ITIL v3 and/or ITIL v4 processes, including:Configuration ManagementChange ManagementIncident ManagementProblem ManagementHands-on experience with CMDB tools, including CI class modeling and discovery toolsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across technical and business teamsPreferred QualificationsITIL Intermediate or Expert-level certificationExperience with automation tools for Configuration ManagementFamiliarity with cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and GCPExperience with automation, discovery tooling, and scripting (PowerShell, Python)Familiarity with audit and compliance frameworks#CB #DICE vTech Solution Inc. is a Managed IT Services firm headquartered in Washington, DC.
