What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Damage Specialist position at Vspec?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The writing of virtual damage appraisals from photos, utilizing electronic estimating software
Audit collision repair estimates to ensure proper method of repairs, and adherence to industry standards
Utilize independent judgment and discretion to evaluate repair vs. replace decisions
Ensure that specific client requirements are applied to audit methodology
Gain acceptance for estimate revisions, or negotiate an acceptable alternative
Audit supplemental repair bills to evaluate validity and cost
Assist clients and vehicle owners with technical questions
Recommend indemnity payments to clients
Maintain thorough records for all relevant claim file activity
Approve and deliver final work product to clients
Process client billings

Experience, Education & Training
Technical degree in collision repair, or equivalent hands-on collision repair work experience
Minimum of 1 year collision repair estimating, or damage appraisal experience
Minimum of 1 year experience with electronic estimating software. CCC One Collision Estimating Software experience is desired
Possess active “damage appraisal” and/or “loss adjusting” licensing credentials; or ability to secure and maintain them if needed
