What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at VSP Technologies?
The Production Supervisor coordinates with production personnel and other departments to ensure customer demands and production schedules are met while in compliance with quality requirements.
Essential Functions
- Work with the Production Manager to prioritize, coordinate, and plan production priorities and workflow
- Responsible for scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow to the Production Manager
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to identify, vocalize, and support continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing efficiencies leading to reduced operating expenses
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards
- On-going monitoring to ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are readily and continuously available to carry out production processes
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management, including reviews, of employees within the department
- Fosters a team-based environment focused on collective efforts aimed at achieving required performance expectations and results
- Physically fabricate products assigned to the department, such as gaskets, sheet, fasteners, windings only spiral wounds, and vulcanized o-rings
- Fluent in VSP’s CAD software and is expected to routinely create, modify, and release drawings.
- Project a favorable image of the company to promote, foster, and enhance public recognition of VSP Technologies and our products and services
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
Required Experience / Education
- High school diploma
- Extensive experience in production/manufacturing processes
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience
- Advanced certifications in industrial/manufacturing processes (Preferred)
