Job Title: Print Production Quality Control Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Print Production Quality Control Specialist with a strong prepress background to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and overall quality of printed materials. This role is critical in bridging prepress and production, ensuring files are print-ready and final outputs meet both technical specifications and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on printed materials to ensure accuracy in color, layout, content, and finishing
- Review proofs (digital and physical) prior to production and provide approvals or corrections
- Monitor production runs to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications
- Identify and resolve print defects, including color inconsistencies, alignment issues, or finishing errors
- Collaborate with production teams, project managers, and vendors to maintain quality standards
- Ensure all jobs meet client specifications, brand guidelines, and production requirements
- Maintain quality control processes, checklists, and documentation
- Communicate any issues, delays, or risks clearly and proactively
- Ensure files meet production specifications including color profiles, bleeds, trims, resolution, and dielines
- Collaborate with design, production, and project management teams to resolve file issues and ensure smooth job execution
- Approve proofs internally (digital and physical) and ensure alignment with client expectations and brand guidelines
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends and recommending process enhancements
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in prepress, print production, or quality control
- Strong understanding of print processes (offset, digital, large format, etc.)
- Expertise in file preparation, color management (CMYK, Pantone), and print specifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Experience with preflight tools and RIP software is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to catch errors before production
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with packaging, large-format graphics, or specialty print finishes
- Familiarity with proofing systems and color calibration tools
- Experience collaborating with print vendors and attending press checks
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
